During GameDev- it’s always great to start with greybox block out from design, making certain the play arena works, is fun and progresses the story. This also kicks off the creative meetings on variable needs from the concept team.
After that it’s reference gathering, silhouetting (perhaps some geo staging, and then it’s all paint over. Textural information, lighting, staging- sometimes several variations on shots with multiple approvals. “Theme-Parking” your environment or (making certain it’s fun to traverse and each area tells the player a little more of the story)-Here are some design block-out with final concepts for TOD, and VisDev concept.
